Landslide Shuts Down Bukidnon-Davao Road; Declared Not Passable—DPWH

A large portion of the four-lane Bukidnon-Davao Road in Sitio Kipolot, Barangay Palacapao, Quezon, Bukidnon, collapsed due to a landslide on October 18, 2025, in the evening, rendering all four lanes impassable, as declared by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region X. 

With the ongoing search and rescue operations, authorities have reported that a tricab was found buried in the soil. 

In the meantime, the rescue coordination units continued their search for the missing couple who were apparently riding the said tricab. 

Due to the hazard posed by the incident, the DPWH Region X has recommended the following alternative routes:

FOR LIGHT VEHICLES:
• From Cagayan De Oro City to Tagum City: Junction Sayre Highway, Poblacion, Valencia City, Bukidnon via Kapalong – Talaingod – Valencia Road    

• From Camp 1 Maramag, Bukidnon to Davao City: via Junction Bukidnon – Davao City Road to Cotabato Boundary – Carmen- Kabacan- Matalam-Kidapawan, Cotabato-Digos City, Davao

FOR ALL TYPES OF VEHICLES:
• Butuan-Cagayan de Oro-Iligan Road

Local authorities are currently assessing the possible damage and impacts, and are urging the travelers to exercise caution and comply with the said guidelines.
